The Green trend has finally hit the trade show industry. With so many green trade show display options available today it can be easy to get confused and overwhelmed with information. Don’t get bogged down and confused!!! Instead focus on incorporating the following basic principles and practices into your exhibit program.
1. Increase Sustainability: Try to choose trade show materials that are recycled or reclaimed such as bamboo, hemp, and plant fibers. Try to reduce the use of materials that are harmful to the environment such as PVC.
2. Reduce Weight: Reducing the weight of your trade show display can make a big difference in your carbon footprint. An example would be getting rid of that old heavy panel display system and replacing it with a exhibit display that is much more light weight like tension fabric systems or custom modular trade show display systems.
3. Green-Accessories: Make sure your lighting, signs, giveaways, and other accessories promote sustainability. Using LED lights can reduce power usage by as much as 90%.
4. Green Printing: Use a printer that uses water-based vegetable inks, and when possible, print on the highest percentage of post-consumer-recycled material possible, whether paper, plastic, or fabric.
Green exhibiting is still a new industry and will continue to evolve in in the future. Focusing on 2 or 3 of these ideas is a great start to becoming an eco-friendly exhibitor. For more green display information and green trade show display ideas visit www.indydisplays.com.
